They worked, they worked, and they are delicious so delicious!
Today was the perfect day for experimenting in the kitchen, we had Christmas carols playing in the back ground, all of our morning jobs were done, everyone was nicely rested and no one was in a bad mood, yay!
We very proudly named our new creation
Nutty Chocolate Chip & Banana Muesli Bars
½ cup of wholemeal spelt flour
1 cup almond meal
½ cup of oats
¼ cup chocolate chips
½ pumpkin seeds
½ sunflower seeds
A pinch of salt
1 really ripe banana
¼ cup of honey
1/3 cup of peanut butter, if peanuts aren’t your thing replace it with another nut butter of your choice.
Oven was set to 180 degrees.
We lined our baking tray.
We mixed our dry ingredients first and set them aside.
We next mixed our wet ingredients in a separate bowl and then poured it over the dry ingredients.
Once we had mix it all together really really well we pressed it firmly into our baking tin and popped it into the oven for 20 mins.
The biggest trick I have learnt since trying to master muesli bars is to wait until they are 100% completely cool before you cut them into squares otherwise they will crumble everywhere….
Our little family gobbled these goodies up rather quickly with a hot cup of tea whilst listening to a storm raging outside, it was the perfect way to spend our Sunday.
